Is your heart heavy? I’m here. – God

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28 (NLT)

Feeling burdened? Burned out? Stressed to the max? Do you worry about the continuing recession, violent protests, or news of terrorist attacks? Because of this you walk around with a heavy heart, and the longer you do so the more weary you become. I have promised that those who come to me will find rest. I have also promised that those who trust in me will find comfort, peace and strength. Find out how God can help you.

Love your neighbor. – God

‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” - Mark 12:31 (NLT)

“Love your neighbor as yourself.” Jesus said that this is the way his followers were to behave. Just imagine it! A world with no bullying, no hateful protests, no violent crime, no child abuse. It may seem like a fantasy, but for now just start by treating the next person you meet with kindness, fairness and love. One person at a time, one interaction at a time and the world can become a better place. Read more about how you can love your neighbor.

I forgive. Just ask. – God

"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." - 1 John 1:9 (NIV)

The memory of past mistakes and failures can serve as the gravitational pull that slows you down and keeps you from going upward and onward in your life. That’s why it’s so important to lay your past failures down. The Bible says that when you confess your sins to me, I forgive you and casts your shortcomings and sins into a sea of forgetfulness. That’s right! I not only forgive, I also forget. If your past mistakes are dragging you down and keeping you from being all you can be, ask me to forgive you. Learn more about my forgiveness.

I am bigger than the storm.

God’s name is a place of protection— good people can run there and be safe. - Proverbs 18:10 (The Message)

I am bigger than the storm in your life. Life’s storms are like swift and bitter winds that knock you to the ground and leave you crumpled and defeated. They sometimes come silently in the dark and no one but you knows the full extent of the pain they cause. But in your suffering, I be your will comfort. In my Word, I urge you to run to me in your storms. Direct your eyes towards me and I will show you the light. Though I may not end the chaos, I will steady your heart, hold your hand and help you take your next breath. If you hold on to me with all your might, I promise to never let you go.  Learn more about how to ride out the storms in your life.

Don’t be afraid.

Don’t be afraid. I am with you. Don’t tremble with fear. I am your God. I will make you strong, as I protect you with my arm and give you victories. - Isaiah 41:10 (CEV)

Fear is an incredibly powerful force. It drives you to do things you would never consider under normal circumstances. When fear has its cruel hand on your heart’s wheel, you’ll make disastrous financial, relational, vocational, and even spiritual decisions. Sometimes, fear can have such a stranglehold on you that you are unable to break free from it. You see the negative in everything, you can’t celebrate in anything, and before you know it you’ve lost out on life  as I intended you to experience it. Learn how to defeat fear in your life.

There is nothing you can do to make me love you less.

Since I was worse than anyone else, God had mercy on me and let me be an example of the endless patience of Christ Jesus. He did this so that others would put their faith in Christ and have eternal life. - 1 Timothy 1:16 (CEV)

You want your lives to be great.  Who doesn’t? So you share the best photos on social media. You post updates that make it seem like you have it altogether. You wear nice clothes and try to impress others. You spend so much time trying to gain the world’s approval that you forget you already have the most important approval of all—mine.  Discover why that there is nothing you can do to make God love you less.

I can mend your broken heart.

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. - Psalm 147:3 (NIV)

The pain of a broken heart can feel worse than any physical suffering you’ve ever endured. Heartache makes you say things you don’t mean and do things you never thought you would. It can turn you into a person you don’t even know. But I know you in your truest form, at your most honest and vulnerable state, and I love you no matter who you are. I want your heart to be full again–you just have to be willing to work with me to put the pieces back together.  Read more about God’s desire to mend your broken heart.

When you’re empty and tired, I am there.

"If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest." - Matthew 11:28 (CEV)

Ever feel worn out by the hectic pace of modern life? So little time to do it all? This is nothing new. Throughout history, people have felt stressed out, empty and tired, and exhausted. The good news is that I promise you rest. If you are feeling empty and tired you owe it to yourself to take a moment, close your eyes, breath deeply and then say a prayer asking me for the strength, peace and rest you need.  Find out more about finding peace in God.

Let me turn your sadness into joy.

You are now very sad. But later I will see you, and you will be so happy that no one will be able to change the way you feel. - John 16:22 (CEV)

If you have lost someone close to you, you know the piercing sadness of grief. It feels like someone just ripped out your insides. You can barely breathe. You ask: “Why me?” When it seems there are no answers it can be hard to trust in me. But that is what you must do! And when you do you will find my reassurance of a better tomorrow and my comfort for today. I am here for you. Discover what it means to turn your sadness into joy.

You are my greatest investment.

God gives such beauty to everything that grows in the fields, even though it is here today and thrown into a fire tomorrow. He will surely do even more for you! - Matthew 6:30 (CEV)

Ever stop to consider how much I have invested in you? I created you in my image. You bear my likeness. You have the same creative spark. The same intelligence to think and reason. I invested myself in you with the best I had to offer.  Find out more about why you are my greatest investment.

I keep my promises. – God

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.” - John 14:1 (NIV)

If there’s one aspect of life that’s likely to keep you awake at night, it’s this: “How are the bills going to get paid? How am I supposed to keep pace with the rising cost of living? What happens if I lose my job?” Worry can invade your mind, and seem impossible to get rid of. When this happens turn to me. Know that I will keep my promises, and that I will always be there for you. Discover more about God’s promises.

Even when you don’t believe in me, I still love you.

Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. – Psalm 23:6 (NLT)

I am your Heavenly Father. I stand ready to reach out to you, no matter what you have done or how you feel about me. Like any good father, I want to talk with you, console you, and love you.  My love doesn’t have conditions on it. I don’t ask for you to get your life straight, your affairs in order, to preform some religious initiation. I just want to have a relationship with you. I love. It may be hard to believe, but it’s true. Learn about my unconditional love.

I will never turn my back on you.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. - Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

Some people have a rigid picture of “God” that often translates into an authoritarian, judgmental, or uncaring view. Don’t allow this to dictate your image of me. It isn’t true! Even in your darkest moment, I am there.  Even when you think that I could never love you, I am there. All you need to do is call out to me. I will never turn my back on you!  Find out more about God’s unending love for you.

You are never alone.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. - Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)

The world is a pretty big place. With almost 200 countries spanning over 57 million square miles of land, the size of the earth can be a bit overwhelming. You are just one person among 7 billion people roaming this planet, waking up and trying to make it through the day. Just one person dealing with finances and family problems and children’s struggles. Just one person surround by multitudes of people and miles of places. And with all that exists, it is easy to see yourself as just one person, but you are not alone. I am always with you. No matter who you are, or where you find yourself, or what has happened, you are never alone. Read more about never being alone.

Give your problems to me.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. - 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

What does it mean to “give your problems to God”?  How often are you bogged down by problems? With all the difficulties and obstacles placed in your life, you stress over the issues you don’t know how to handle or can’t change. But the reality is that any situation that you cannot control and any difficulty that you cannot handle, I can. No matter what problem you are facing, I can solve it, and I am waiting for you to hand it over to me.  Discover how to give your problems to me.

I can fix what’s broken.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. - Psalm 34:18

Throughout your life, you will spend a lot of money on repairs- brakes squeak, engines die, sinks leak, roofs cave. Time and time again, you dig into your pockets to pay the expenses that replace defective parts and fix damages. However, all the money in the world can’t fix a broken heart or a broken spirit. All the money in the world can’t fill the hole that a loved one left, or piece back together a wrecked marriage, or breathe joy back into a depressed soul. There is no price you are able to pay to be healed or fixed. But thankfully, I have paid it for you, and I  want to fix whatever is broken in your lives. You just have to ask.  Read more about how God can fix what is broken in your life.

Work with love. – God

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. - Hebrews 10:24 (NLT)

I have called my followers to love others. When was the last time you acted in love toward your neighbor? When was the last time you went out of your way to do something good for a stranger? Love requires action. You can’t claim to love if you haven’t acted on it. You couldn’t claim to be a fan of U2 if you’d never heard a single song. Or to be a French food aficionado, without a single bite. In fact, these days super fans are easy to find. They blog, podcast and vlog about their passions, show up to conventions in droves, dress in cosplay—they act upon their love for comic books, movies, food, cars… you name it. You can’t just say it, you must do it. Get passionate about loving others.

Practice humility. – God

I realize how kind God has been to me, and so I tell each of you not to think you are better than you really are. Use good sense and measure yourself by the amount of faith that God has given you. - Romans 12:3 (CEV)

I am your Heavenly Father. As my child, you still have a lot to learn, but also like a stubborn child how often do you turn away my help, insisting you can do it yourself. Pride—is putting yourself first, thinking of yourself more highly that you ought.  I have so much to teach you, so many gifts to give you, so much we are going to accomplish together. But your pride gets in the way, it keeps you at arm’s length from me, it separates and divides. The only cure for pride is humility, and it must be practiced daily. Discover why pride is so destructive.

Your eternal home is with me. – God

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. - John 14:6 (NIV)

Death and Taxes. As the saying goes, those are the only two certainties of life. Many people live in fear for death, so they chase today trying to get as much as they can now because tomorrow…, who knows? But you don’t have to live that way. I have the answer to life and death. In fact, what I have to offer is eternal life. A home in heaven with me, a place without death, suffering crying of pain. How do you get this eternal life? In a word, faith. Learn how.

Don’t be afraid. I’m here – God

Don’t worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. - Philippians 4:6 (CEV)

The future, is it full of fear for you? Are you so overwhelmed by today that you can’t even image tomorrow? Let me take away your fears and anxieties. Let me help you find strength for today and peace for tomorrow. All you have to do is ask. I will walk right by your side through every circumstance of life. And I will never leave you. There is nothing to fear when you are walking with me. Let your faith overcome your fear (find out how.)

Don’t hate me without knowing me. – God

Don't judge by appearances. Judge by what is right. - John 7:24 CEV

Do you ever feel unjustly judged? That someone has made a disparaging remark or given you a hateful look without knowing you, without understanding you. People judge each other all the time, based on preconceived notions or misunderstanding, or plain ignorance. They judge me the same way. Whether out of ignorance, a misunderstanding of my character or preconceived notions about my followers; many people hate me without knowing me. Learn more about why you shouldn’t hate God.

Loved the wedding. Invite me to the marriage. – God

That’s why a man will leave his own father and mother. He marries a woman, and the two of them become like one person. -  Genesis 2:24 (CEV)

In the next couple of months, you’ll probably be attending a handful of weddings, or perhaps you will be the one getting married. It’s easy to get carried away by the beauty of the ceremony and all its trappings. However, after the thrills of the ceremony fade comes the hard work. If you want your marriage to last, invite me to bless it not just at the beginning, but every day. Ask me to help you understand your spouse, to have patience and endurance for those hard days, and pray for him to help you keep your love fresh. Read more about inviting God into your marriage.

Stand for what is right. – God

Even if you have to suffer for doing good things, God will bless you. So stop being afraid and don’t worry about what people might do. - 1 Peter 3:14 (CEV)

It’s not easy to stand for what is right. There may be pressure from work to cut corners, to lie or cheat to get ahead. There may be pressure from your family to turn the other way, to spend your time doing other things, to just let it go. There will be pressure from society to just go with the flow, to fit in. Doing what is right may not be easy, but it is rewarding. When you choose to be righteous I will bless your life. Discover how to you can stand for what is right.

Be faithful, loving and humble. – God

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. - Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)

When was the last time you experience someone being kind? Or when was the last time you saw true humbleness? Or when did you last notice someone really apologize in a heartfelt way? Not the humble brag, or the sorry-not-sorry attitudes that have been permeated social media and society these days. I mean genuine kindness, humbleness, and sincerity in apology. I want you to live your life in genuineness of character; to be a person who is a faithful friend, a loving neighbor, a humble worker. I want you to live differently than the world around you. Find out how you can live this way.

I Love You. I Love You. I Love You. – God

God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die. - John 3:16 (CEV)

I love the whole world. I didn’t say that I ONLY love those who are wealthy, or successful, or well behaved or Western. That’s simply not true. I love the poor and the outcast and the prisoner and people from every corner of the world. I love everyone, unconditionally and fully. I love you. I love your neighbor. Everyone. Discover this love of mine.

A child is a gift. – God

Children are a blessing and a gift from the Lord. - Psalm 127:3 (CEV)

You don’t have to be a parent to experience the joy and blessings that children bring. From the experience of holding a newborn baby, to watching a young child at play, to seeing a child accomplish something for the first time—kids are a wonder to behold. Yes, raising children can be challenging, but it’s also full of blessings. Children are important to me. They are an important part of my plan for the world. The next time you get the opportunity to spend time with a child remember that they are one of the gifts I have given to this world. Read more about how you should treat children.

He’s alive! – God

I am the living one. I died, but look--I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave. Revelation 1:18 NLT

Today is Easter Sunday, the day that is set aside to celebrate the greatest miracle of all. The fact that My Son, Jesus who had died on Friday was risen on Sunday. He who was dead is now alive! The resurrection of Jesus is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. It is what makes Christianity different from every other religion and sets my followers apart from the world. Jesus’ resurrection fulfilled the promise of a Savior. It opened the door of heaven for those who believe in Jesus by faith. Celebrate this truth today. Learn more about this promise.

Good News is here. – God

This is the good news about Jesus Christ, the Son of God. - Mark 1:1 CEV

Have you ever gotten a call from a friend, “I have good news!”? When you have good news, you want to share it—a call, an email, a post on Facebook… there are lots of ways to share. Long before Social Media Mark had good news to share, so he wrote a letter letting everyone know about THE good news, My Son, Jesus. He knew had to get the word out, to tell the world that they have a Savior. Find out about Jesus, the Savior of the world.

Look after the sick. – God

Then he (Jesus) sent them to tell about God’s kingdom and to heal the sick. - Luke 9:2 (CEV)

From colds and the flu to cancer and heart disease, sickness affects everyone at some point and time. You know what it feels like to be sick, to need help and care to get better. Maybe you’ve even know the heartache of a love one whose had a terminal illness. Sickness is a universal kind of suffering. Wherever there is suffering I call for my followers to help. I want you to look after the sick, to care for them, to help them, to pray for them. Discover how you can make a difference.

Go and be loving.

“Stay on good terms with each other, held together by love. Be ready with a meal or a bed when it’s needed. Why, some have extended hospitality to angels without ever knowing it! Regard prisoners as if you were in prison with them. Look on victims of abuse as if what happened to them had happened to you.” Hebrews 13:1-3 (MSG)

Across the world, in prisons, homeless shelters, refugee camps, brothels and red light districts my followers are showing love to those most in need. They are doing what Jesus did, going to the outcast, the downtrodden, the lost and lonely. I have given this same calling to all my followers. GO and love! Make it an everyday expression to those around you, and find those who are in desperate need of love and give it to them. Learn how you can show love today.

I can fix what’s broken.

"I restore the crushed spirit of the humble and revive the courage of those with repentant hearts." – Isaiah 57:15 (NLT)

Stand tall, throw out your chest, proclaim your strength, and enjoy standing in the spotlight. That’s how the world says you should act. But I think otherwise. Sure, you can play the role of conquering hero for a while, but life has a way of kicking you in the teeth and bringing you back down to earth. With My help, you’re bound to go further than you can on your own. Learn how God can help you deal with the brokenness in your life.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s message. – God

“But I tell you to love your enemies and pray for anyone who mistreats you.” - Matthew 5:44 Version (CEV)

I am love. That means I love you, and everyone else—even those you don’t like or find hard to love. Because I love them I ask you to show them love too. Many find my request to love their enemies, hard to stomach. Throughout the years many of my followers have been faced with this dilemma—love or hate. When you are faced with the same dilemma I hope you will choose love, just like a man now known as Saint Patrick did. Read more about Saint Patrick’s life.

Gentleness is important. – God

“Gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” Galatians 5:23 (NLT)

Rules. Rules are everywhere. Telling you what you can and can’t do; don’t run, don’t shout, wait here, fill this out, pay for this, make sure you do that. Sometimes you feel trapped by all the rules. It’s easy to become disillusioned and hardhearted. You push to get ahead, cut corners, and get curt with others. That’s not my way though, I want you to live differently. I want you to embrace gentleness and self-control. There are no rules or laws governing being gentle or exhibiting self-control. And don’t think I’m making this a rule too. Far from it, I’m trying to show you a better way of life, one that offers freedom from the rule trap. Discover how to be gentle.

I see your tears.

God keeps an eye on his friends, his ears pick up every moan and groan. - Psalm 34:15 (MSG)

Grief, sadness, anger, frustration… even joy—I know why you cry, and I see every tear. I know every emotion that you experience. I am here for you through the ups and downs. “My dear friends, we must love each other. Love comes from God, and when we love each other, it shows that we have been given new life. We are now God’s children, and we know him.” - 1 John 4:7 (CEV)

In a world filled with constant news of “body shamming”, online bullying, and open criticism—kindness and love are needed more than ever. My followers are called to be beacons of light in a dark world, to share my love with those around them. It may be hard at times to counter a culture of negativity, to stand up for whats right and good, but if you do I will give you the strength you need. I am the source of love, so when you spend time with me you’ll walk away with love to spare. Read more about loving others.

Love your neighbors as I love you. Don’t shoot.

You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater....  - Matthew 12:31

Violence, rage, revenge, hate, the demand for respect… These are the things that the evil one thrives on. The devil uses these things to breed turmoil, to keep people down, and to cloud minds so they can’t see or value goodness. I am calling you to love your neighbor just like you love and appreciate yourself. The call in life is to love the people who surround you – even the ones you hate.  Find out more about what it means to love your neighbor…

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called my children.

Bring your doubts to me.

Jesus said to his disciples, “Don’t be worried! Have faith in God and have faith in me.” - John 14:1 CEV

Decisions are easy when you can look back at how they turned out. In the meantime, you need help moving ahead. Discover how you can overcome doubts in your life.

Sometimes “No” is a good answer.

“You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.” - James 4:3 NASB

I love you, and I want what’s best for you. Sometimes that means saying no. Sometimes that means disappointing you today, so that you’ll be able to receive something better tomorrow. Sometimes that means that you won’t get what you ask for because you are asking for things that would harm you. Do you know how many people pray to win the lottery? Or who ask me to bless their greedy or lustful or hateful wishes? Sometimes no is the best answer to your prayers. Find out more about prayer.

I’ll be watching the game too!

“Lord, you have examined me and you know me. You know everything I do; from far away you understand all my thoughts. You see me, whether I am working or resting; you know all my actions.” - Psalm 139:1-3 (GNT)

Pray for your leaders. – God

The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live. – 1 Timothy 2:2-3 (MSG)

New leadership often means changes.  Changes which can leave you feeling uncertain, anxious, or agitated.  As a new president begins his term in the United States the world is watching.  Many are wondering what changes this new leadership will bring.  And whether you watch with trepidation or excitement; I have one thing I want to ask of you – pray for your leaders.  Pray for the president, pray for your governors, pray for your mayors and other civil leaders.  Ask me to lead them with my wisdom. Ask me to guide them in their decisions. Ask me to watch over your country. Find out how you can pray for your leaders.

Trust me. – God

But those who trust the Lord will find new strength. They will be strong like eagles soaring upward on wings; they will walk and run without getting tired. - Isaiah 40:31 CEV

Faith begins with trust.  Without trust as its foundation faith will begin to crumble.  Each day you must choose to trust me.  Trust me with your finances.  Trust me with your relationships.  Trust me with your future.  Trust me with today.  Each time you choose to trust me your faith will grow a little more.  The more you trust me the stronger your faith in me will be.  Begin right now, say “Heavenly Father, lead me and guide me today.” Learn more about trusting in God.

Let me turn your sadness into joy

You are precious to me, and so I will rebuild your nation. Once again you will dance for joy and play your tambourines. - Jeremiah 31:4 CEV

Looking up at a grey frosty sky doesn’t help matters out. When the sadness begins to overwhelm your heart, turn to me. When grief, and heartache, and melancholy establish themselves in your mind, turn to me. Let me replace your sadness with my joy. Discover this joy I have to offer.

Let’s celebrate together

But his father said to the servants, “Hurry and bring the best clothes and put them on him. Give him a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. Get the best calf and prepare it, so we can eat and celebrate. This son of mine was dead, but has now come back to life. He was lost and has now been found.” Luke 15:22-24 (CEV)

Celebrations. Many of you have just completed a season of parties, reunions, festivals, and ringing in the New Year. Now that the fun and frivolity are coming to an end, you may be dreading having to return to the office after the bowl games end and the extended Christmas breaks come to a conclusion. But you can enjoy a different kind of celebration with Me, one that never ends. Find out how.

There’s nothing you can do to make me love you less

God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent him to save them! – John 3:16-17 (CEV)

It’s a message that somehow gets lost in holiday parties and all the glamor of the forthcoming New Year. I sent My Son into the world because I love you so much. Jesus didn’t come to act like a scold or read you the riot act for all your mistakes. He set a new standard. He called out religious leaders for their hypocrisy and lack of care for people. What this means is you don’t have to perform for Me. I love you. Read about my love for you.

Let’s celebrate Christmas – God

All right then, the Lord himself will give you the sign. Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son and will call him Immanuel (which means ‘God is with us’). – Isaiah 7:14 (NLT)

Christmas has become a celebration of so many things. Merchants are happy that their cash registers are ringing. People love all the dinners, pageants, parties, good times, and getting together with family. Yet somehow many of them overlook the purpose of all this celebrating is honor My Son. The Savior who came into the world to show the world the way to eternal life. It’s the best Christmas present ever! Discover the Christmas Story.

Give thanks – God

“...Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength. “O our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name!...” – 1 Chronicles 29:12-13 (NLT)

Sometimes it’s hard to think about giving thanks as a lifestyle. The United States recently celebrated Thanksgiving, but one day to stop, eat lots of turkey and dressing and all the trimmings shouldn’t be the only time you do this. I want you to give thanks throughout the year, no matter what comes your way. No matter how much or how little you have. Gratitude can be contagious, causing others to celebrate with you instead of constantly griping and finding fault. Learn how to be thankful at all times.

I can mend your broken heart

If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath. – Psalm 34:18 (MSG)

To be human is to know disappointment. Rejection. Humiliation. Disillusionment. Sooner or later, someone is going to let you down. I know what that feels like. I put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Gave them plenty of food. Put them in charge of tending the land. Everyone was at peace. And then they did exactly what I told them not to do—eat forbidden fruit. The good news is: I sent my Son to correct their mistake. Learn more about how I can comfort you.

I don’t change – God

Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands. They will perish, but you remain forever; they will wear out like old clothing. You will change them like a garment and discard them. But you are always the same; you will live forever. – Psalm 102:25-27 (NLT)

Growing up, who was your personal Rock of Gibraltar? Someone you could depend on because you knew they loved you and always “had your back?” A parent or grandparent? Brother or sister? Aunt or uncle? Chances are they’re either gone or will be before you know it. As much as you want people like that to stay around forever, they can’t. That’s why you need a constant presence in your life like Me. Find out about My Steady, Unchanging Presence.

You have so much to be thankful for

Praise the Lord! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Who can list the glorious miracles of the Lord? Who can ever praise him enough? – Psalm 106:1-2 (NLT)

The week of Thanksgiving is a great time to pause and thank Me for the small things in life. Like being able to get out of bed in the morning. Your health. Your friends. Thoughtful neighbors who get your mail or watch your home when you’re away. Do you spend too much time thinking about what you want, what you don’t have, or you’re unhappy? Giving thanks is a much better way to live. See more reasons you have to be thankful.

You are never alone – God

The Lord God brought her to the man, and the man exclaimed, “Here is someone like me! She is part of my body, my own flesh and bones. She came from me, a man. So I will name her Woman!” – Genesis 2:22-23 (CEV)

Loneliness is a modern plague, no matter where you live. Great Britain has been labeled the “Loneliness Capital” of Europe. Researchers have found that 25 percent of Americans lack meaningful social support, meaning they don’t have a single person to confide in. Yet I created people with a longing for others. And no matter how lonely you may feel, I’m always there.  Read more about God being with you…

Give your problems to me – God

So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. – 1 Peter 5:6-7 (NLT)

In life, worry and anxiety can easily drag you down. According to a recent survey, the use of antidepressants has mushroomed over the past two decades. One in every 10 Americans takes an antidepressant medication; among women in their 40s and 50s, the average is one in four.  Obviously, people are struggling with problems. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Read more…

Be compassionate.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. – Matthew 9:36 (NLT)

Compassion. It’s like mercy wrapped in a package of grace. No one deserves it. Especially careless folks who waste their money on drugs, alcohol, or visits to the nearest casino or video poker parlor. Why should you help someone like that? Why should they get anything to eat? Why should anyone speak kindly to a loser? They’re just reaping what they’ve sown, right? Not necessarily. Read more…

Need direction?

I said to myself, “Let’s go for it—experiment with pleasure, have a good time!” But there was nothing to it, nothing but smoke. - Ecclesiastes 2:1-2 (MSG)

Have you found that chasing after a good time leaves you wanting? Sooner or later the partying, the drinking, the rowdy friends wear you out. When it comes down to it, a pleasure seeking life is an empty one, a directionless life. Instead of spending your life wandering from one to another I offer you a life of purpose and direction. See out how to find direction by following God.

Follow me – God

Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” And they left their nets at once and followed him. - Matthew 4:19-20 (NLT)

Just as Jesus called His disciples to follow after Him, I do the same for you. I am calling, “Come, follow me!” In the process, you may need to lay down some things which are standing in your way, stumbling block to following me. It’s probably not a tax collector’s table or a fishing net (things the disciple of Jesus left behind), but it might be a prestigious title, a car, or a house. More than anything else, I want to be in a relationship with you. But for this to happen, you must be willing to set aside certain things to clear the path for you to follow me. Learn about following God.

I want to hear what you have to say. I am available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Too many people just can’t imagine this. They desperately need someone to talk to, yet they refuse to talk to me. Learn more about talking to God.

Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. - John 15:5 (NLT)

Sometimes, life can wear you down. It’s no wonder they call it the “daily grid”. No matter how hard you try, you can never get ahead. I am Love. – God

God is love. - 1 John 4:8 (NLT)

My love doesn’t change. – God

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. - Lamentations 3:22-23 (NLT)

Some have decided that Christianity is too “old-fashioned” for them. It might be for people like their grandparents, but not for a modern, forward-thinking young person. Socially it may not be the “in” thing to follow me. The fact is, trends come and go, fashion is ever changing, cultures rise and fall, but my love never changes. Sometimes “no” is a good answer. – God

“Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” - Luke 22:42 KJV

Our relationship is important to me. I love it when we have time to talk. When you talk to me, when you pray, I hear your request.  I know your heart and your passion.  Your desire is good and your intentions are right.  But sometimes my answer to you is going to be a simple, “no.”  Let me explain my reasons why…

Be faithful, loving, and humble. – God

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. - Ephesians 4:2 (NIV)

Some of my people have gotten things backwards. They have forgotten that I am more interested in who you are than what you do. They tell others that they must do this… and don’t do that…. They have become concerned by the outward actions of others. I am concerned by your heart. I am concerned with who you are. I want you to be a faithful friend, a loving companion, a humble partner. It may seem hard to do, but I am here to help you. Invite me in and together we will work on your becoming a faithful, loving and humble person. Find out who you are in me.

Don’t be afraid. I’m here. – God

Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. -  John 17:11 (NKJV)

Unfortunately, the English language sometimes comes up short in translating the original text of My Word. For example, the word that my son, Jesus used for “keep” in the verse above has a much deeper meaning than the English word initially suggests. In the Greek, it literally means “to guard something against injury through constant care and attention.” Once upon a time, this would describe the way a shepherd watched over his flock. A modern equivalent would be that of a bodyguard. Someone who is always alert to your safety and well being. Knowing that I am with you and watching over you with this kind of attention should give you great comfort. Learn how a relationship with God can help you deal with your fear.

Loved the wedding. Invite me to the marriage.

“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” - Mark 10:6-9 (NIV)

Relationships are a vital part of human life. I created you to be in relationships. I specifically created you to be in relationship with me. I also created you to be in a close relationship with another person. Marriage is the ultimate contract and covenant that people make to be joined together in life. I made you for this kind of relationship. Read about how to make me a part of your relationship.

Go and be loving. – God

Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. - Hebrews 13:1 (NLT)

When you let me fill you with my love it should, naturally, spill over into the lives of people around you. And not just the nice, easy to love people—everyone. My son, Jesus, told his followers “If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much.My calling is higher than the worlds calling. I want you to love those that you come into contact with today, your neighbor, the postman, the person behind you in line at the grocery store, the homeless man on the corner, the single mom at the park. Read about how I can help you love others.

Come to me…

Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. —John 6:35 (NLT)

Some will not come to me because they think they must get their lives in order first. That they have to stop drinking or smoking or cursing, that they need to fix their relationships, or make better friends. If you hire a maid to clean your house, do you expect to clean it up ahead of time? If a contractor is coming to paint your house, do you try to beat him to the task? No, doing it yourself when a professional is on the way wouldn’t make much sense. The do-it-yourself mindset doesn’t work on sin either. The only way to cleanse yourself of sin is through me. Nothing I have created is as beautiful as you

Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. Psalm 139:14 (NLT)

I created you, and I don’t create junk. I made you and I love exactly the way you are. No amount of work in the gym or in front of a mirror can make me love you more. The standards of the world are not my standards. True beauty isn’t an outward appearance. A gentle spirit is an unfading beauty that is of much more worth in my site. When you look in the mirror, remind yourself that you were by created by a loving God and nothing is as beautiful as that. Learn more about how I view you…

What are you asking for?

Jesus asked, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man answered, “Master, I want to see!” Mark 10:51 (CEV)

Is it difficult for you to ask for things? For some people the act of asking feels like a weakness. They think they need to be strong and independent to make it in this world. Struggling to make it on your own will only increase the difficulties. When you release the things you cannot handle and give your problems to me it shows wisdom, not weakness. The reality is that there will be situations you cannot control and problems that you cannot solve. No matter what problem you are facing, I can handle it, if you will simply ask. What is holding you back from asking?

Why are you afraid?

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Matthew 7:24-25 (NIV)

Storms come into every life. Whether you are able to bear up under the storm or not depends on your foundation. When you face difficult circumstances strong emotions—fear, doubt, anxiety, anger flood your mind. Fear can be especially paralyzing. However, when your foundation is built upon the rock of my Word I will give you strength to face the storms. Find out how Jesus can aid you when you are afraid.

Real greatness comes from serving others. – God

“Building a brand” is one of the leading methods of standing out in the crowd and calling attention to yourself. It doesn’t seem to matter how you get the recognition, just that you do. However, people are less likely to remember you for what you did for yourself than service to others. Learn how being loving, compassionate and humble is better than building a brand.

Need direction?

You’re not alone. -God

“Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’”  (Hebrews 13:5 ESV)

There Is Nothing You Can Do to Make Me Love You Less – God

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. -1 Timothy 1:15-16 (NIV)

Throughout our life, we spend a lot of money on repairs. Brakes squeak, engines die, sinks leak, roofs cave. Time and time again, we dig into our pockets to pay the expenses that replace defective parts and fix damages. However, all the money in the world can’t fix a broken heart or a broken spirit. Little children don’t mind asking for things. If they have a need, they usually share it with someone who can help.

God wants us to come to Him as a little child, asking in faith for the things we need from the One who desires to answer.

Yes, God knows your need before you ask. But the asking drives us to the source of all good gifts. And God is a kind Father. He has no interest in withholding His best from you. What have you asked God for lately? Do you know He offers you His peace? His wisdom? His forgiveness? Have you asked God for His greatest gift, the gift of salvation? What is holding you back from asking? Come with a childlike faith, and go with the knowledge that God has an answer.  What are you asking for?

We’re all searching, trying to find something to fill the void we feel inside. We want the journey to lead us to happiness, but we know deep down that we will never be fully satisfied with the things life has to offer.
