Ask Me

Ask Me

Jesus asked, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man answered, “Master, I want to see!” Mark 10:51 (CEV)

Why do you hesitate to ask me for help? I know your need before you ask, and I have no interest in withholding my best from you.

Whatever you’re asking for, I am listening, and I want to hear your requests. Come to me and release the burdens of your heart, mind and body. I will always answer.

Sometimes, this answer may not be the one you’re looking for. You have to understand that. Sometimes the answer is a maybe, or a wait, or it could be a no. But when I say no, that’s because I have something else, something better, in store for you. I want what is best for you. Wait on me for the perfect timing.

Trusting in me to answer your requests and waiting for my timing can be difficult. It’s a matter of faith. Often times the answers are intangible things; peace, patience, kindness, hope, love. You ask for the noisy neighbor to move away; I give you the patience to bear them. You ask for your brother to be healed; I give him joy amidst his circumstances. You ask for world peace; I help you love the down-trodden. You ask to marry the man of “your dreams”; I know he is not the one for you, and I hold you during your heartbreak.

Most of all, whatever is going on in your life I want to be there for you because I care for you. Because I love you.

I have so much to give you, starting with My Presence, and I am just waiting for you to ask. Invite me in. Ask me to help. Give me your worries and fears. Trust in my timing. And rest in my love.

3 for 3:

1 – Read the story of Jesus healing the blind man from Mark 10:46-52. Why was the blind man healed? The crowds told him to be quiet, yet Jesus was willing to stop and hear his request. Don’t let someone else’s doubt or disbelief keep you from going to Jesus.

2 – Watch this video about God and Prayer. Find out how easy it really is to ask God for something.

3 – What problems are you facing? Have you prayed about them as much as you’ve complained about them? Have you relied on God to help you through them?
