You Are Not Alone – God

Family Ties

For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. – Galatians 3:26-27 (NLT)

A recent study from the University of Arizona, of 1,500 interviews, found that more than a quarter of the those interviewed said that they have no one with whom they can talk about their personal troubles or triumphs. This sad fact shows how disconnected the modern world is. While many feel free to share the mundane parts of life with a wide net of “friends” on social media, most do not truly have a safety net to fall back on.

The truth is—you are not alone. I am close to you right now. I am with you every minute of every day. It may be hard for you to notice me though, for the noise of this world often competes with the quiet voice of my Spirit. That is why I have also given you a spiritual family.

When you came to me and asked to be in relationship with me you became my child. You became part of a family called the church. A family that is here to encourage you, teach you, comfort you and celebrate with you.

The church was not meant to be a social club; it is a family—My Family. When you spend time with my family you should be reminded, encouraged, and pointed back to me. Matthew 18:20 (NLT) says it this way “For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” If you want to feel my presence the best way to do that is to gather with other followers, with family.

Above all remember, I love you and I am always here for you.
