Feeling Overwhelmed?

Are you feeling tired and empty? Overwhelmed?

Feeling Overwhelmed?

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” —Matthew 11:28 (NLT)

Today the world is full of uncertainty. The modern lifestyle is one that few can truly keep up with. More people than ever before are seeking professional help to deal with anxiety and depression. Deep dread, mistrust, and unrest fill many lives.

Even the most well-balanced person on the planet will still feel the challenge of dealing with complications and questions that were unheard of just 50 years ago.

When you feel anxious and overwhelmed, I have promised to fill you with my peace. A peace that passes understanding, sheltering you from the torment of your worry. Energizing you with my Spirit. Refreshing you with my presence.

I am always available to help. When you cry out to me, I answer.

The righteous call to the Lord, and he listens; he rescues them from all their troubles. —Psalm 34:17

Where do you turn when the extremes of life seem to have you cornered? Do you reach out to me? I understand what you are facing today. I know the boundaries of your strength and courage.

Are you feeling tired and empty? Drained by the demands of your day? When you need a break from the pressure, remember me. No matter what day it is, how early or how late, I am waiting to hear from you.

3 for 3

1 – Read Matthew 11:28-30: How do you think this passage applies to your life? How can the truth of Jesus’ words change your life?

2 – Listen to the story of Jonah. He was in desperate need and called out to God. God answered his prayer and saved him. (His story is found on Tracks 13 and 14 .) If you have children, listen to these audio tracks with them.

3 – The Bible is full of stories of God’s power to rescue those who cry out to him. Read his Word when you need encouragement or help. Try reading the book of Jonah or the story of Daniel in the Lions’ Den if you don’t know where to start.
