Let me help. – God
Being humble is the first step to receiving help. We must admit that we cannot do life on our own. Life is full of unforeseen circumstances that can bog us down and depress us. Sometimes Satan influences these stressors, devising plans specific to each of our weaknesses. He introduces trouble at just the right moment, when he knows he can knock us off the path God intends for us.
The Bible tells us that the thief comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy. And while he may not be doing these things in the literal sense, he will cause hurt to happen in whatever way he can. He devises heartbreak to steal our confidence, he stirs up drama to kill friendships, he creates depression to destroy our happiness. He kills our peace and destroys our joy.
When we find ourselves in the midst of trials and burdening situations, God is waiting to help us. He waits for us to turn to Him and seek His direction. He wants to help us in whatever way we need Him to. Maybe we need someone to listen or we just need someone to help us start over. God can assist with anything we need.
He has been there for us all along and has offered His help through the best and roughest moments of our lives. He is our ever-present help in time of need and He waits for you to let Him be your help. Will you ask?
A Challenge For You:
Read Psalm 46. Think about the impact of this verse and the promise God makes to us. What have you been trying to handle on your own? What obstacles have come across your path that you’ve been trying to climb over alone? Consider the assurance God gives in His offer to be our refuge and strength, our ever-present help in times of trouble. Call out to God and ask for His guidance. Be still and know that He is God. Let Him help.
