I Am Never Far Away
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. – Deuteronomy 31:6 (NIV)
With all the roads you’ve traveled and paths you’ve crossed, some days you wake up feeling lost. Sometimes you look around and wonder how you’ve gotten here–what streets you should have ventured down, turns you should have taken, U-turns you should have made or shortcuts you should have avoided. You think of the people you’ve encountered throughout your journeys and pointed you in the direction that has landed you here.
The here that might feel like the middle of nowhere, a place you’ve never seen, a road you don’t want to be on.
Maybe your tank is nearing empty or your map is ripped or your compass is broken, but you need to know that you’re not lost. Because your destination is nowhere on this earth. In fact you’re all just trying to find your way.
But I am here to fill you back up, to guide you and point you in the right direction. I have been with you on every road and turn, each and every step. Comforting you in your sadness, celebrating with you in your joy, providing for you in your needs, and giving you direction in this journey of your life.
The journey may be full of ups and downs, pains and struggles, but the destination is worth it all. And while you find your way through dark roads and rocky paths, know that you never walk alone.
Know that I am always holding your hand wherever you go. In your quiet moments, when you feel most lonely, call out to me. I am with you, and I want to help you.
