What’s Holding You Back?

Bring your burdens to me.

What’s Holding You Back?

“Your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask him!” – Matthew 6:8 (NLT)

Bring your burdens to me. Come to me with your needs. Ask me to help you with your troubles. As your Heavenly Father I care for you. I have good gifts to give you. All you have to do is to ask for them, pray to me and make your requests known.

For some asking for help feels like weakness. They want to be independent, to be seen as strong and self-sufficient. For others they feel so hopeless they think asking would be pointless. Still others ask and ask and ask, never pausing to wait for a reply. And so they get discouraged. Which are you?

Whatever the reason, I want you to know that I am here for you. Whatever is holding you back from asking put it aside. Start fresh by believing what I say. Hold onto the promises in my word.

Promises like:

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. – Matthew 6:33

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. – James 1:5

These and so many more. My Word is full of promises that I will answer your prayers. I have so many good things in store for you, I am just waiting for you to ask.
