CALL TO ME IN YOUR DISTRESS.

“Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.” Psalm 86:11

It’s a scary world out there. There are wars and rumors of wars. Famines. Earthquakes. Hurricanes. Wildfires. Riots.

The list goes on and on.

As you face the world, don’t forget my love and faithfulness. Give me your undivided heart. Give me your fear.

It all can feel overwhelming at times. Like the world is crushing in around you. But I am here. I will guide you. I promise.

Fear of the world is understandable, but futile. To be wise and strong in these difficult days, you must start by running to me — trusting in me. If you fear me, you will have wisdom, strength, and understanding. You will be able to face the day, no matter what comes at you.

I don’t ask for perfection. I don’t want you to pretend. If you’re having a hard day, tell me. I’m strong enough to take it. Be honest with me, and let me speak into your pain.

And I challenge you to do the same for others. Allow them to be honest and real with you. Encourage them to share their heart. And show them my heart in return. My loving, caring, open, forgiving heart.

These are dark days. But there is hope. There is freedom. There is peace. It’s found in me.

NEXT STEPS:

  • Read Psalms 86. What comfort can you find in this passage of scripture?

  • Listen to this song, “No One But You.

  • Sometimes we’re afraid to share our anger, struggle, hurts, or questions with God. Take time today to talk with God or write Him a note, sharing all that’s going on in your heart right now. Ask Him to speak into your pain.
