TRAGEDIES, DISEASES, & DIVORCE…

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Tragedies strike. Diseases take our loved ones. Marriages struggle. Careers fail. Pandemics hit. Injustice overwhelms. Loss comes.

These unforeseen catastrophes turn your world upside down.

The hurt builds.
The pain stings.
You feel as if you can’t go on.

You wake up and try to press forward. But your mind is stuck on rewind. So you try desperately to manage and control your emotions and grief.

Questions haunt your thoughts and sorrow manipulates your mind. The grief comes suddenly, but doesn’t go away. You try to find hope, to let go and move on, but waves of disbelief and heartbreak keep crashing down. Sadness threatens to drown you and the painful tides have brought you out too far. There seems to be no escape.

Have no fear. I am with you. I care for you. I will protect you.

Just when you’ve lost sight of the shore… when the pain is too much… know that I am there. I am your lifeline. I am the preserver, reeling you back in with my grace and love.

You can count on me in your times of trouble.

What problems are you facing today?
Have you prayed about them as much as you’ve complained about them?

You can rely on me to help you through all of your problems. Just pray to me. Talk to me. Tell me how you feel. (I already know, but I like to hear it directly from you.)

Prayer will keep you connect to me. Reading my word will encourage you and remind you of my goodness. Spending time with other believers will uplift you. Worship will redirect your mind.

If you give your problems to me, I will deliver you. I will rescue you in your greatest need.

— God

NEXT STEPS:

  • It’s easy to focus on the bad things that are happening in our lives, but have you outweighed them with the good? Read Isaiah 41:10 and Philippians 4:6-8. Find strength in knowing that God can resolve anything, and He is here to help you through whatever problem you are facing.

  • If you are going through a struggle, don’t keep it to yourself. First ask God for help and then share it with a trusted Christian friend or minister and have them pray with you.
