DOES GOD REALLY LOVE YOU? [THE ANSWER IS YES!]

“God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die.” – John 3:16 (CEV)

You might think that certain people don’t deserve my love. It might be because they wear a burka, speak a foreign language, worship another god, or have committed a crime. Some might think that my love is reserved for the “right” people. For those who have tried to live a good life, who have Christian parents, or who have it all together.

The truth is… I love everyone!

I love you. I love your neighbor. I love the homeless women. I love the prisoner. I love the prostitute. I love the refugee. I love the business man. I love the rebellious child. I love that person you can’t stand. I love that leader you disagree with.

I love everyone!

There are no exceptions to my love. You can’t earn it and you can’t lose it. It’s not reserved for a certain group of “good people.” It’s not exclusively for those who “need it.”

My love is for everyone.

Everyone has a choice… will you accept my love or reject it?

As their final act, the two criminals that were crucified on either side of Jesus made this choice. One chose to reject my love, the other chose to accept it. The one who accepted it was told, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 22:43). It wasn’t too late for him, and it’s not too late for you. Open up your heart to my love today. Invite me in. Let’s begin a relationship.

You’ve already done that, you say. How’s it going? Accepting my love, acceptance, forgiveness and peace is a daily decision. Maybe you’ve cooled off to my love. Maybe you’ve distanced yourself from me for some reason.

I still love you. I’m still here for you. I still care for you.

It’s not too late for you to come back to me.

I’m right here. I’ll be waiting.
