YOU ARE VALUABLE IN MY EYES

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

In my eyes, you are a unique and special creation. I long to know you personally, to talk with you, and walk with you. My greatest desire is to be with you and help you navigate life.

I take great delight in you. I want you to know that.

In the same way a great artist takes pride in his or her work, I feel the same way about you. Stop for a moment and think about how much I love you. Now multiply that love by 100… even 1,000. You still won’t be close to the amount of love I have for you.

Even in your worst moment, I am there, calling to you and reminding you of my love.

No matter what you do or say, I will never leave your side.

You need to know that my love for you is unending. No matter what you do or say or think, I love you. And I always will. And that is why I will never leave you. I love you too much.

Now, you may have encountered “religious” types who try to describe me as a harsh, unyielding taskmaster. You know the image—a cruel, unforgiving being, just aching for you to make a mistake so I can strike you down.

That is not who I am!

Instead, think about my promises….

“I will never leave you or forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5

I say this because I love you more than you can possibly imagine. Too often people get confused about this and try to say, “God could never love me because of what I’ve done…” or “It’s too late for me.”

It’s never too late for anyone!

My love is unending!

Take a moment to think about my love for you. Ask me if I am there. Look and listen. You will feel me. You will hear me—if you ask. It may be a still small voice. I don’t like to yell. But you will know that I am there and that I love you.

NEXT STEPS:

  • Read Genesis 1:26-31. Think about the close relationship God wants to have with you. Make a list of three benefits you can see from having this type of relationship.

  • Discuss your list with a close family member or friend. Ask what he or she thinks about it. Explain to this other person your concepts of God delighting in you. Then express those feelings to God. Nothing fancy — just talk to Him.

  • Write out these verses on a piece of paper and post it where you will see it daily as a reminder of God’s love for you. “God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die. God did not send his Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent him to save them!” John 3:16-17 (CEV)
